The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has finally named referees who will officiate at the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2022.
Algeria will hosts the tournament from January 13th to February 4th in four cities of; Algiers, Constantine, Oran and Annaba.
The list which also has three women referees has a total of 19 referees, 21 assistant referees and 12 video assistant referees.
Désiré Noumandiez Doué, the head of the referees department at CAF says they have picked a combination of experience and youthfulness. “For this competition, we have combined experience with youth – we have a number of up-coming and promising referees. CHAN is a global competition and a great platform for our match officials,” added Doué.
The tournament meant for players featuring in their respective domestic Leagues will attract 18 teams. Morocco are the defending champions.
