KAMPALA, Feb 13. – Uganda will host the Division 2 U-19 Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup qualifiers.
Jackson Kavuma, Chairman of the Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) confirmed on Friday about the development.
“We are excited that once again the ICC has selected Uganda to host an International competition. This helps us to keep improving our hosting abilities,” added Kavuma.
The competition will take place March 6-14th at the Lakeside Cricket Oval in Entebbe.
Five teams that will tussle it out to determine the best two that qualify for Division 1 include; Cameroon, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique and Sierra Leone.
According to the ICC the games will be played on a round robin format and the best two teams basing on the points accumulated will advance to Division 1 to join Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Namibia.
Tanzania will host the Division 1 Under -19 Women’s Two World Cup qualifiers in October to determine one team that will qualify for the T20 Women’s U-19 World Cup to take place in Nepal in 2027.
