New comers Gaddafi FC shocked reigning champions Vipers SC 1-0 in a 2022/2023 StarTimes Uganda Premier League match played at Kakindu Stadium in Jinja on Sunday.
Alex Kitaata netted the lone goal after only four minutes.
Vipers SC tried to push forward to try and find the goals, but Gaddafi’s goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa denied Karim Watambala and Hillary Mukundane.
In another match played on Sunday a 10-man SC Villa side picked a 1-0 win against Maroons FC in a match played in Lira. Patrick Jonah Kakande netted the only goal after 11 minutes, while Maroons FC’s Fred Amaku had his second half penalty saved.
Sc Villa’s Kenneth Ssemakula was sent off five minutes into the second half for a second bookable offence.
KCCA FC who stopped Onduparaka FC 2-0 last Friday lead the log with 22 points from 10 matches played, while Wakiso Giants who have played one match more are in second place with 21 points.
The reigning champions Vipers Sc who also qualified for the group stage of the 2022/2023 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League are third on the log with 20 points after 10 matches played, while Bidco FC in fourth position also have 20 points, but a lower goal difference.
