The Royal Football Federation of Morocco (FRMF) has officially lodged a complaint to FIFA.
The complaint lodged on Wednesday questions some of the decisions by the match officials during their 2-0 semi final defeat to France at the on-going FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
FRMF questioned the performance of centre referee Cesar Ramos.
They pointed out two incidents where Morocco felt they didn’t receive a deserved penalty in the first half – one ending in a yellow card to Soufiane Boufal for a foul on Theo Hernandez, when many thought Morocco would get a penalty.
The other incident was when Selim Amallah tumbled inside the box after a clash with Aurelien Tchouameni in first half injury-time.
“The Royal Moroccan Football Federation strongly protested the refereeing of the national team, led by Cesar Arturo Ramos Palazuelos. At the same time, the arbitration is surprised that the mouse room was not alerted to that. The Royal Moroccan Football Federation affirms that it will not hesitate to defend the rights of our team, calling for fairness in taking the necessary measures regarding the arbitral injustice practiced on the Moroccan national team in its match against the French national team, in the semi-final drawing of the World Cup,” said a statement on the FRMF website translated into English.
Morocco which made history becoming the first Africans side to reach the World Cup semi final stage will face Croatia on Saturday in a playoff for third place.
