African representatives Tunisia have held Denmark to a goalless draw in the first Group D match played at the on-going FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
After African champions Senegal kick started with a 2-0 defeat to Netherlands on Sunday, the Carthage Eagles came out determined to prove a point at the Education City Stadium.
Tunisia looked more dominant in the first half and had Denmark’s goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel brilliantly a shot by Issam Jebali. Christian Eriksen also had his attempt saved by Tunisia’s custodian Aymen Dahmen.
Tunisia’s goalkeeper made several good saves in the second half, and the North Africans were lucky late in the game when the Denmark team thought they had got a penalty late in the game.
While te European Champions Denmark will be out to try and prove a point, Tunisia are also determined to make it to the knock out stage for their first time ever in the World Cup. Tunisia are the first African team ever to win a match at the World Cup level.
