Doha set to host CAF Champions League, Confederation Cup quarter final draw

CAIRO, Feb 20. – The draw for the quarter final stage for the 2024/2025 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup will finally take place this evening in Doha, Qatar.

Bein Sport, the CAF media rights partner will have the draw conducted in their studio.

The four group winners for both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup will be drawn against the four runners-up, though they cannot meet the team who advanced to the knockout stage from their pool. The draw for the semi-finals will be conducted at the same time.

For the CAF Champions League South Africa and Egypt will have  two sides each drawn for the quarter final stages; Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, and Al Ahly and Pyramids.

Sudan’s Al Hilal under the watchful eyes of experienced coach Florent Ibenge, the only team from the CECAFA Zone at this stage, together with AS FAR (Morocco), Espérance Sportive de Tunis (Tunisia) and MC Alger (Algeria) are the other teams that will be drawn.

For the CAF Confederation Cup the reigning champions Zamalek (Egypt) together with Asec Mimosas (Cote d’Ivoire), Al Masry (Egypt), CS Constantine (Algeria), RS Berkane (Morocco), Simba SC (Tanzania), Stellenbosch FC (South Africa) and Algeria’s  USM Alger will be drawn.

The quarter-final stage of both competitions will be played over two legs, with the first leg of the CAF Champions League scheduled for April 1-2 and April 8-9, while the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final fixtures are set to take place April 2 April and April 9th, 2025.
