KIGALI, Rwanda, Sept 10 – Rwanda giants APR FC will host Les Aigles du Congo in the return leg of the 2026/2027 TotalEnergies CAF Chmpions League first preliminary round on Friday.

After losing the first leg 1-0 away in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the match at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali promises to be a tough test for the home side.

Abedrabbihi Taleb, APR FC’s head coach who blamed their first leg defeat to poor refereeing has called on his team to prove a point infront of their fans.

“We must make sure we utilize our scoring chances from the start of the match. We shall need all the support from our fans and we should be able to win,” added Taleb.

The team will face pressure at home after failing to make it out of the group stage in the recent CECAFA Kagame Cup held in Rwanda.

The winner between APR FC and Les Aigles du Congo over two legs will face the winner between AS Port (Djibouti) and former champions Zamalek (Egypt) in the second round of the preliminary stage.

Action will return to the same Amahoro Stadium on Saturday with Sudan’s Al Hilal SC hosting Angle Noir FC (Burundi).
