The President of the Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan has placed a cash incentive for every goal goal scored by the two teams representing the country in the 2022/2023 CAF Competitions.
Simba SC are in the grup stage of the TotaklEnergies CAF Champions League, while Young Africans SC are battling in the group stage of the TotalEnergies Confederation Cup.
The two sides kick started their group campaigns with away defeats last weekend with Simba SC falling 1-0 to Horoya FC in Guinea, while Young Africans SC suffered a 2-0 loss to Tunisia’s US Monastir.
But in a move to motivate the players of both Simba SC and Young Africans SC, the Tanzanian President has today announced a cash incentive for each of the goals that will be scored in the campaign.
“In this year’s CAF Championship, we are represented by our traditional hometown team, Simba (Champion Club) & Yanga (Confederation Cup). As the Chief Government Spokesman informed, I am giving an incentive of 5 Million Shillings to these two teams for every goal they score. Represent us well. I wish you the best,” said President Samia Suluhu Hassan on her twitter handle.
The 5 million Tanzanian shillings is equivalent to US$2150. Simba SC will be back in action on Saturday when they host Group C table leaders Raja Casablanca from Morocco, while Young Africans SC host former African champions TP Mazembe on February 19th in a Group D match of the TotlEnergies Confederation Cup.
