BANJUL, The Gambia, Aug 30 – The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Assembly has elected Kemo Ceesay as the new President to serve for 4-years.
Ceesay was elected during the federation’s elective General Assembly held in Banjul on August 29th, 2026.
He collected 41 votes of the 77 cast, defeating second placed Coloneal Musa Jammeh who received 24 and Sadibou Kamaso 12 votes.
“I thank the voters for electing me to become President of the Federation. We need to work together to lift and improve Football standards in the country,” said the newly elected GFF President.
His election marks a new chapter in the governance of Gambian football, following the 12-year presidency of Lamin Kaba Bajo.
The new GFF president brings considerable experience in football administration. He previously served as the federation’s Chief Financial Officer and manages first-division club Gambia Dutch Lions.
Ceesay will have the major tasks of providing a new direction for Gambian football including attracting sponsors and capacity building.
