Burundi ejected Tanzania 2-1 in the semi final stage, while Uganda netted  a goal in extra time (115 minutes) to see off hard fighting Ethiopia.

“We know Uganda is a strong team and we shall respect them. Although they beat us in the group stage, this is a final and the stakes are different,” warned Burundi’s coach Gustave Niyonkuru.

The Uganda Crested Cranes coach George William Lutalo said he is happy to get to the final by winning all the four games since the tournament started. “We want to maintain this winning run and also win the trophy. We know it will not be an easy match,” added Lutalo.

The players to watch in the final will be the tournament’s second leading scorer Fazila Ikwaput (5 goals) for Uganda and Burundi’s Sandrine Niyonkuru who has also netted the same number of goals.

But before the final Tanzania will face-off with Ethiopia in the play-off to determine who wins bronze.
