LUSAKA, May 13. – The President of world Football, FIFA has congratulated newly elected President of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), Keith Mweemba.
In a letter dated May 11th, Gianni Infantino congratulated Mweemba and newly elected FAZ Executive Committee, assuring him of FIFA’s full support in developing Zambian football.
“Please accept my warmest greetings and sincerest congratulations for your recent election as President of the Football Association of Zambia. Your knowledge and leadership, your passion and experience will undoubtedly have an important impact on the development of our beautiful game in Zambia,” said part of the letter.
On May 9th, Mweemba, a lawyer and proprietor of Zambia Premier League side MUZA Football Club was elected President of FAZ during the Annual General Meetings held in Kabwe. He secured 45 votes, while incumbent Andrew Kamanga polled 20 votes and former FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala managed 17 votes.
