Uganda all out to maintain lead in Lyca Women’s Cricket T-20 Series

ENTEBBE, March 11. – Uganda Victoria Pearls will be all out to register another win when they face Hong Kong in China on Wednesday in their fourth match of the on-going 4-Nations Women’s Cricket T-20 Series.

The hosts lead the log with two wins and one defeat against Nepal in the tournament dubbed the LYCA Women’s Day Cup.

On Tuesday Uganda collected a narrow 1 run win against Namibia in a match played at the Entebbe Cricket Oval. Hong Kong in China who also have 4 points like Uganda and are in second place will be more than determined not to suffer defeat to the hosts again.

Janet Mbabazi, Uganda’s captain told Talksportsafrica.com that they will go all out to try and keep the momentum. “We know Hong Kong in China will be eager to prove a point, but we are determined to give our best,” added Mbabazi.

Natasha Miles, the Hong Kong in China and the leading player with more runs in the tournament has maintained that they need to remain focused as they face the hosts for the second time.

The second match on Wednesday will see Nepal take on Namibia in another encounter that promises to be a thriller.

The hosts Uganda are using the 4-Nations Series to prepare ahead of the up-coming African Women’s World Cup qualifiers to take place in Namibia.
