ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA, Ang. 28. – The 2025/2026 Ethiopia Premier League champions Sidama Bunna have signed experienced midfielder Khalid Aucho.
Aucho, the Uganda Cranes captain will now feature for Sidama Bunna in the 2026/2027 CAF Champions League which kicks off in September.
The midfielder moves from Tanzania Premier League side Singida Black Stars FC to the Ethiopian side on a one year contract.
“I have joined Sidama Bunna and I am happy that I will feature for the Club in the forthcoming CAF Champions League,” said Aucho.
The Ethiopian champions will face Chad’s Aigions FC N’Djamena in the first round of the CAF Champions League.
Aucho who captained Uganda Cranes at the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) said that he is glad to be starting a new professional journey with Sidama Bunna in Ethiopia.
“I will bring my experience to my new team and help them win as many titles as possible,” explained Aucho.
The midfielder who had trials with Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen in 2016 before the move collapsed has also played Simba SC in the Uganda Premier League between 2012-2013.
He later moved to the Kenya Premier League where he played for Tusker FC and Gor Mahia FC. He later joined Borako FC in South Africa before moving to Red Star Belgrade in Serbia.
The experienced midfielder later moved to Egypt, India and finally to Young Africans SC in Tanzania where he helped them to win several titles.
