Morocco win 2024 TotalEnergies CAF Futsal AFCON title

RABAT, MOROCCO  – The hosts defeated Angola 5-1 in the final played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Hall on Sunday. It was also the third straight Futsal AFCON title that the Morocco as winning.

Morocco took the lead through Soufiane Borite, but Aderito Santo leveled matters shortly for the Sable Antelopes.

The hosts netted more goals through Bilal Bakkali, Anas El Ayyane, Idriss Raiss El Fenni, and captain Soufiane El Mesrar to ensure the trophy stayed in Morocco.

” We are very proud that we finished the Championship in style and lifted the trophy. We thank all the fans for the support, ” said Morocco’s skipper El Mesrar.

In an earlier play-off match Libya defeated Egypt 3-1 on penalty shoot-outs after a 2-2 draw in the allotted time.

The three top teams after the TotalEnergies CAF Futsal AFCON, Morocco, Angola, and Libya will represent Africa at the FIFA Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan later this year.
