The head coach of Kenya’s 15s national team, Paul Odera has promised that they will qualify for the Rugby World Cup 2023.
Odera’s team left this morning for Marseille, France where the qualifiers will take place.
Kenya will face neighbors Uganda in the quarter finals, and the winner will take on the winner between Senegal and Algeria at the semi final stage.
“Our aim is to qualify for the World Cup for the first time ever. It will not be easy, but we are confident and very clear that if we play according to how we have prepared, this team has the ability to contest with the best teams from the African continent,” added Odera before the team traveled to France.
But Fred Mudoola, Uganda’s head coach few days ago also made it clear that they are prepared to take on any team. “We know the Kenyan team so well and know what to expect in this match. But we are prepared and ready to win,” added a confident Mudoola.
Both Kenya and Uganda have never qualified for the 15s Rugby World Cup.
The other teams that will battle in the qualifiers in France include; Namibia, Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe and Cote d’ Ivoire.
