_{The Somali Football Federation (SFF) will have a new President for the next four years after the General Assembly voted on February 22nd, 2023 at the Elite Hotel.}

_{Ali Abdi Mohamed was elected unopposed by the 34 delegates who attended the General Assembly in Mogadishu..}

_{After the elections were stopped twice in November 2022 and February this year by the government, a greenlight was finally given for delegates to make their decision during the elective General Assembly overseen by the Electoral Committee headed by Isak Abdullahi Hassan.}

_{Out of the 46 delegates, the 34 who turned up raised their hands for yes for the new Committee led by Ali Abdi Mohamed to take charge of the Federation for the next four years. “I declare Ali Abdi Mohamed the new President of the Somali Football Federation,” added the Electoral Committee chairman.}

_{The Assembly had kicked off with the SFF General Secretary Yusuf Mohudin Ahmed taking roll call to ensure register the delegates present and those missing. He said 34 delegates were present which was more than three thirds, while 12 were did not attend.}

_{“We need to work together to change the face of football in Somalia. I thank the football Congress who have chosen us to lead the Football Federation for the next four years,” said a happy Ali Abdi Mohamed.}

_{He made it clear that football is one sport that will bring Somalians together. “The football community always needs to be together if we are to take football to a better level in Somalia,” added Abdi Mohamed.}

_{Although Somalia had not been entering teams for several tournaments in the past Ali Abdi Mohamed is credited for entering the U-17 team which eventually made history and lifted the U-17 CECAFA title last year and qualified for the U-17 AFCON to take place in Algeria in April this year.}
