IN RABAT, MOROCCO
The Atlas Lionesses of Morocco will open their TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2022 campaign in a group A match against Burkina Faso this evening.
Reynald Pedros, the Morocco coach made it clear that it will be good to start with a win in the opening match to take place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
“We cannot underestimate any team that is her for the tournament, but we must treat each of our matches very seriously,” added the experienced French coach.
The Morocco team that has played several build-up matches will look to some of their professional players like Elchad Nesryne (AS Saint-Etienne, France), Nahla Elodie Nakkach (Sevette FC Chenois Geneve, Switzerland) and Salma Amani (US Saint-Malo, France) among others.
Burkina Faso will look to their only professional player Jacqueline Wend-Zoodo Sedogo who plies here trade in Bulgaria
Action will return on Sunday with three matches on card. Senegal will battle Uganda Crested Cranes in the only Group A match, while Cameroon take on Zambia, and Tunisia face Togo in Group B ties at the Stade Mohammed V, Casablanca.
