Giants Senegal to spice up CECAFA Four Nations Tournament

ARUSHA, Tanzania – Senegal will be the only guest side invited to play in the CECAFA 4-Nations Tournament set for July 21-27th in Karatu, Arusha region, Tanzania.

The Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) oragised the tournament to give teams in the Zone a good ground to prepare ahead of the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024.

“We are excited that we have Senegal coming to play in this tournament because it will give our teams Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania a different fill,” says CECAFA Competitions Director, Yusuf Mossi.

He explained that the tournament will be played on a round robin basis and the team with more points will emerge the champion. Action is expected to start on Monday with Kenya facing Uganda.

The four teams have all embraced the tournament to be able to give them opportunity to have match practice ahead of CHAN 2024 which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

The CHAN 2024 competition meant for players plying their trade in their respective local leagues. Rwanda and Sudan are the other two nations from the CECAFA Zone that have before hosted a CHAN.
