Tanzania to host  CECAFA Women’s Champions League 2022

The CECAFA Women’s Champions League 2022 will take place in July 28th to August 10th in Arusha, Tanzania.

Eight teams will tussle it out to try and win the regional trophy, but also battle for the one slot for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League 2022.

Auka geceho, the Execitive Director of the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) told TalksportAfrica.com that they have few weeks to the tournament and the hosts are ready.

“The matches will be played at the Arusha Abeid Stadium and the Black Rhino Academy in Karatu,” noted Gecheo.

Unfortunately the defending champions and winners of the 2021/2022 Kenya Women’s League Vihiga Queens will miss out of the tournament Kenya is currently serving a FIFA suspension.

The eight teams that will take part include; She Corporate FC (Uganda), Simba Queens (Tanzania), Yei Joint Stars FC (South Sudan), Warrior Queens (Zanzibar), Fofila PF (Burundi), AS Kigali Women’s FC (Rwanda), GRFC (Djibouti), Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (Ethiopia).
